Description: This rose stands at 5-6' tall with a dark green leaf. Fairly disease resistant.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Masses of rich yellow double blooms in early summer trailing off to less for the rest of the summer. New buds have a streak of orange on the side. Mildly fragrant.

Description: This rose has reached heights of 10' tall. With long stems of up to 3'. Its struggle for light is impressive, as it is unfortunately behind a tree that blocks a lot of it's southern exposure.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Flowers are large, light pink with a heavenly scent in mid summer.

Description: This rose is standing at about 5 1/2' tall right now. Has a tendency to get black spot , but on the coast most do.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: A large display of flowers bloom on new wood in early summer. Carries on blooming for the rest of the summer, but not as full. Mildly fragrant with a double bloom in a mixture of cream with pink edges.

Description: Stands about 5 1/2' tall with large dark green leaves. Tends to get black spot annually.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humous rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Flower color is inconsistent ranging from peach to pink. Double blooms that appear mid summer with a strong fragrance.

Description: This rose is 6'-7' tall with small bright green leaves.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water. 
Bloom: The flower i=on this rose is not very exciting. It is bright yellow fading to cream with a single layer of 4 to 5 petals.

Description: This rose was discovered as a stick almost lifeless in another area of the garden. I have moved it to a sunny wall where the lower parts are not seen. It has come a long way. It is not one I would buy as it has a poor look , and it is hit hard by black spot every year.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: The flower is the reason I let it stay. It is a double bloom of a dark red shade that turns dark pink as it fades. A lovely scent, but doesn't last long when it's cut.

Description: This rose was discovered as a stick almost lifeless in another area of the garden. As cabin 10 #1 did so well here I moved this one next to it. It too shows a strong desire for life. Leaves are dark green, and stayed undiseased all summer. Present height is 2 1/2' tall ,but that may change.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: The first and only flower that it showed was a double creamy yellow with a tinge of peach. Lightly scented.

Description: This rose was discovered as a stick almost lifeless in another area of the garden. I have moved it to a sunny wall. With some tlc it has sprung forth with rich, healthy, greenish red leaves almost bronze. The present height is only 3' tall, but that may change.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: The large double flower is a deep pink with darker pink veins running through it. Great scent.

Description: This rose stands at 4'-5' tall. It has bright green leaves.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: This rose is colored a dark red with a velvet texture to the petals. It blooms non stop all summer, and well into fall. It sits under a large overhang, and has bloomed in the past right up until a hard frost. Mild scent.

Description: This rose is a ground cover rose that reaches a height of 28"- 36" high x 36" wide. Small dark green glossy leaves. Compact growth.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun to part sun with regular water. Cut back 2/3 annually .
Bloom: Covered in masses of small light orange almost peach colored flowers all summer.

David Austin 'L.D. Braithwaite' ( Old Fashioned English Rose )

 
Description: 4 1/2'- 5' tall x 4' wide medium sized, erect, bushy shrub rose with dark green, shiny leaves. Very hardy.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Dark red/crimson, large, fully double bloom with a light scent that gets stronger with maturity. Flowers for a long time.

Rosa 'Cherry Meidiland' ( Cherry Meidiland )

 
Description: Small oval dark green leaves. Groundcover or hedge rose. Small spiny stems. Prone to disease, and sudden death in colder climates.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, moist, well drained soil. Full sun. Regular water. I am growing this rose on a trellis tucked against a cabin wall with southwest exposure. Instead of growing across the ground, as is customary it sprawls against the wall. Needs tying up, but it looks good. Being under the eve keeps the rain and mist off the leaves as this one is really prone to black spot.
Bloom: Covers itself continuously throughout summer in deep cherry colored flowers with white around the yellow center. Flowers have a single layer of slightly overlapped petals. Slender orange hips are fall color as the leaves turn yellow.

Description: Stands 3'- 4' tall with small bright green leaves. Fairly disease resistant.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun to part sun with regular water. Cut back 2/3 annually.
Bloom: Masses of medium pink buds turn to shell pink double blooms. Mild scent with slender orange hips in the fall.

Rosa 'New Dawn' ( Modern Climbing Rose New Dawn )

 
Description: This variety has been around since 1930. It is a vigorous grower up to and possibly more than 20' tall. Foliage is a small, glossy green leaf. Tends to get black spot here on the coast.
ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water. This one doesn't seem to need much if any care. Blooms on old wood so if you do cut it back do so right after flowering.
Bloom: Buds are medium pink opening to light pink, and as the flower ages it becomes almost white. Flowers are borne in clusters prolific in early summer, then carry on to a more occasional bloom for the duration of the summer.

Rosa nutkana ( Nootka Rose )

 
Description: Spindly growth up to 7' tall with a pair of large prickles at the base of each leaf. Other prickles are usually absent except on some new growth. Each 'leaf' consists of 5-7 softly serrated leaflets colored a dull medium green. This one can be a bit rangy, and can be found creeping through the branches of other plants.
Ideal conditions: Fairly moist, but drained soil with full to part sun. regular water.
Bloom: Flowers are borne singly at the tips of the branch. A single layer of petals in medium pink with yellow to brown stamens.

Rosa rubrifolia 'Glauca' ( Rosa Glauca )

 
Description: At 6' tall x 5' wide this shrubby rose has long upright branches that arch gracefully when covered in flowers. Leaves are greyish blue with purple stems. Older canes are grey.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich, well drained soil in full sun. regular water, but can take a moderate drought.
Bloom: Flowers are small with a single layer of 5 petals. Wide edges are light pink with a white center and yellow stamens.

Rosa Rugosa 'David Thompson' ( David Thompson Rose )

 
Description: A medium 4'-5' x 4'-5' wide hardy shrub. Leaves are slightly serrated, and bright green. Stems are covered in small spines.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Rich pink blooms that are quite scented are on display from early summer till late. In fall large rosehips turn from red to orange creating a fun and edible fall accent.

Description: This hardy rose has a distinct look about it with sturdy upright branches that are greyish brown below changing to dark red above on the new growth. Stands 5'-6' tall x 4'- 5' wide. Bright green leaves are smooth, and deeply veined. Small thorns remain mostly on the old wood.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: Clusters of deep pink buds that turn into double pink flowers with a slight glimpse of yellow stamens. Scented.

Description: This miniature has a small, dark green leaf that has bronze colored new growth. Stands about 18" tall. seems disease tolerant.
Ideal conditions: Fertile, humus rich soil, well drained. Full sun with regular water.
Bloom: The flowers on this rose are dark red, and continue for most of the summer.
